Under the heading of “New Political Trends and the Changing World Order of the 21st Century,” H.E. Ambassador Redwan Hussein, the Prime Minister’s Security Advisor, trained the diplomats at the African Leadership Excellence Academy today (November 23). He discussed current global trends, challenges, and opportunities in his presentation, as well as the historical effects of the shifting world order. Ambassador Redwan urged the diplomats to tread cautiously, to always learn and keep on improving. Ambassador Redwan also spoke about his participation in the Pretoria peace accord and the Nairobi implementation meeting between the Ethiopian government and the TPLF, as well as the lessons he learned from both. H. E. Ambassador Tesfaye Yilma, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, facilitated the session.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, said AU member states should redouble their efforts to industrialize and boost intraAfrican trade.
Speaking at the Extra-Ordinary Summit on Industralization and Economic Diversification held in Niamey ,Niger today (November 23) DPM Demeke said industrialization determines whether Africa can transform its natural endowments into tradeable products or depend on imported products from outside.
Deputy Prime Minister Demeke who underscored the importance of allocating necessary resources to kick-start industralization in the continent and transform the economy also called AU member states determinations to change the visions into implementable actions.
Ethiopia implemented Home-grown economic refom program with the sole purpose of creating condusive economic environment for the private sector by removing structural red tapes number of industrial policies in the past few years with impressive results, Demeke elaborated.
He also said Ethiopia throw its weight behind the AU’s initiative to industralize the continent.
Attendants at the Summit said indusalization is not an event but a process and Africa has all the assets for job creation and industralization.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed gave a training and mission direction on Ethiopia’s foreign relations policy at the African Leadership Excellence Academy. The training was attended by young and senior diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and leadership of the Ministry.

አልጄሪያ አገራችን ፈተና በገጠማት ወቅት ለወሰደችው በመርህ ላይ የተመሠረቱ አቋሞች ምስጋናቸውን አቅርበዋል።

የአልጄሪያው የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር የሰላም ስምምነቱ አፍሪካ የራሷን ችግር የመፍታት አቅም እንዳላት የሚያሳይ ነው ብለዋል።
የኢትዮጵያ የግዛት አንድነት እና ደህንነት እንዲከበር አገራቸው እንደምትፈልግ ሚኒስትር ላማምራ ገልፀዋል። የኢትዮ-አልጄሪያ ወዳጅነት እንዲጠናከር በጋራ ለመስራት ተስማምተዋል።

ለዚህም ኃላፊነታቸውን በአግባቡ ለተወጡ ሁሉ በፀጥታ አካላት ስም ምስጋናውን አቅርቧል።

ወደ አሜሪካ ስመጣ የሚደግፈኝ አልነበረም፣ ነገር ግን ትልቅ ህልም ነበረኝ፡- ጨረቃ ላይ ውሃን ለማግኘት ላይ የሚሰራው ኢትዮጵያዊ የናሳ ተመራማሪ
ኢትዮጵያዊው የናሳ ተመራማሪ ዶክተር ኢንጂነር ብርሃኑ ቡልቻ በጨረቃ ላይ ያለውን ውሃ የመለየት ችግር መፍትሄ ለመስጠት ከቡድን አጋሮቹ ጋር በመስራት ላይ የሚገኝ ሳይንቲስት ነው፡፡
ተመራማሪው ከዚህ በፊት ጨረቃ ላይ ውሃ ለማግኘት የሚያስችል በመጠን አነስተኛ የሆነ ቁስ የኳንተም ፊዚክስ ቀመርን በመጠቀም መስራቱ የሚታወስ ሲሆን ይህን ምርምሩን ከግብ ለማድረስም ከፍተኛ ጥረት እያደረገ ይገኛል፡፡
“ከኢትዮጵያ ወደ አሜሪካ ስመጣ የባህል ልዩነቱ እና የሚደግፈኝ ባለመኖሩ ተቸግሬ ነበር” የሚለው ኢንጂነር ብርሃኑ፤ “ሁሌም የማስበው ጠንክሮ መሥራት እና በትምህርት ስኬታማ መሆንን ነበር” ይላል፡፡
በልጅነቱ መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ሲያነብ ስለ አጽናፈ ዓለም/Universe/ አፈጣጠር እና ተያያዥ ክስተቶች ያነበባቸው ታሪኮች ስለ ህዋ ይበልጥ ጥያቄዎችን እንዲጠይቅ እና ምርምር የማድረግ ፍላጎት እንዲያድርበት ማድረጉን ለቢቢሲተናግሯል።
“በውስጤ ነገሮች እንዴት ተፈጠሩ የሚለው በጣም ያስደንቀኝ ነበር፤ ዩኒቨርስ ምን እንደሚመስል እና ምን ያህል ትልቅ እንደሆነ የበለጠ ለማወቅ ትልቅ ጉጉት ነበረኝ” ሲልም ይገልፃል።
በልጅነቱ ለማወቅ እና ለመስራት በሚያልመው የህዋ ምርምር ዘርፍ ላይ ከብዙ ጥረት በኋላ የደረሰው ኢንጂነር ብርሃኑ፣ አሁን ላይ በጨረቃ ላይ ያለውን ውሃ የመለየት ችግር መፍትሄ ለመስጠት እና ሰዎች ጨረቃ ላይ መኖርን እንዲያልሙ የሚያስችል አስደናቂ ምርምር በማድረግ ላይ ይገኛል።
ከሰሞኑ በሜሪላንድ የሚገኘው የናሳ ጎዳርድ የጠፈር በረራ ማእከል ኢንጂነር ብርሃኑ በዚሁ የምርምር ማዕቀፍ ውስጥ ያበለፀገውን ፕሮቶታይፕ ለማጠናቀቅ እንዲያስችለው 2.5 ሚሊዮን ዶላር ፈንድ እንዳቀረበለት የቢቢሲ ዘገባ አመልክቷል።
በዚህ ፕሮቶታይፕ ላይ የሚሰራውን የቴክኒካል ስራ ለማጠናቀቅ ሌላ ሁለት ዓመት ሊፈጅ ቢችልም የተጀመረው ስራ እንደሚሳካ ኢንጂነር ብርሃኑ ያለውን ተስፋ ይገልፃል።
ውሃ ከምድር ወደ ጨራቃ ሊጓጓዝ ቢችልም ወጪው የማይቀመስ እና ስራው ውጤታማ ባለመሆኑ የኢንጂነር ብርሃኑና የቡድን አጋሮቹ ምርምር ትልቅ ውጤት የሚያስገኝ ነው፡፡
በዚህ የምርምር ዘርፍ ውስጥ ቀደም ሲል በተደረጉ ጥናቶች ጨረቃ ላይ አነስተኛ መጠን ያለው ውሃ መኖሩ ቢረጋገጥም የውሃ ውህዶችን በትክክል መለየት ግን ሳይቻል ቆይቷል።
ከዚህ ጋር በተያያዘ በጨረቃ ላይ ያሉትን የውሃ አካላት ከውህዳቸው ጋር ለመለየት እና ብሎም በትክክል ቦታውን ለማመላከት የሚያግዘው የኢንጂነር ብርሃኑ የምርምር ስራ ለብዙ ጥያቄዎች መልስ እንደሚሰጥ ይጠበቃል፡፡
በምርምር ስራዎች ላይ ብዙ መሰናክሎች አንደሚያጋጥሙት የሚገልፀው ኢንጂነር ብርሃኑ ሁልጊዜም ማለምን እንደማያቆም፣ በህልሙ ላይ ደግሞ አቅዶ መስራት እንደሚፈልግ ይናገራል፡፡

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Demeke Mekonen, held discussion today (November 17) with the Special Envoy of the European Union for the Horn of Africa, Dr. Annette Weber, about the peace agreement and regional issues in his office.
During the discussion, Minister Demeke said that the Ethiopian Government worked hard to reach a peace agreement because of its desire to resolve the problem in the North peacefully. He also noted that the Government is committed to the implementation.

He expressed that humanitarian aid is being made available to the areas affected by the conflict. He also explained that the work of provision of basic services is gaining momuntem.
In addition, he stated that the government will hold political consultations with the relevant parties to solve the security problems in some parts of the country, and discussions will be held on various agendas at the national dialogue forum.
He also appreciated those who supported the signing of the peace agreement.
Demeke also called on partners to strengthen their cooperation in the phase of implementation of the agreement and recovery of areas affected by the conflict.
The Special Envoy, Dr. Annette Weber expressed her appreciation for the historic agreement. She also stated that the European Union will play its part in the implementation of the agreement and reconstruction.

Progress on Delivery of Essential Medicines and Supplies to Tigray region

The Ethiopian government, together with international organizations, has resumed the humanitarian aid that has been interrupted due to the resumption of the conflict in August.
The Ministry of Health together with the National Disaster Risk Management Commission managed to deliver the first round of life-saving drugs and medical supplies worth 6,433,408.47 birr from Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Service to Shire branch, two weeks ago. Second round of medicines and supplies estimated at 1,080,429.28 Birr were also delivered. The medicines and supplies are being distributed to Shire Hospital and nine health centers which are staring to provide health services to the community. In collaboration with the National Disaster Risk Management Commission, third round of additional medicines and supplies worth 1,713,410.35 Birr are on the way to Shire.
On the other hand, this week, two trucks containing essential medical supplies arrived in Mekelle with a load of 33.9 metric tons of basic medical supplies, emergency medicines and surgical instruments through the International Committee of the Red Cross. Other international organizations and MOH have also prepared to send more shipments.
Health professionals from various hospitals have also been sent to support the restarting of services at health facilities which will continue to be strengthened.

Congratulations to Honorable Solomon Areda Waktolla, Deputy Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia who has been appointed as a half-time judge of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal for the term 2023-2030 by the United Nations General Assembly’s 34th plenary meeting at the elections held on the 15th of November 2022 in New York. The United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT) is the court of first instance in the internal justice system of the United Nations and is composed of three full-time Judges and six half-time Judges all of whom have a seven-year term. Deputy Chief Justice Waktolla is an accomplished judge and jurist with over twenty five (25) years of legal and judicial work experience both at national and international levels.

በእለቱም ክቡር አምባሳደር ስለሺ በቀለ ባሰተላለፉት መልዕክት በአሜሪካ የሚኖሩ የዳያስፖራ አባላት በአገራችን ተከስቶ በነበረው ጦርነት ሳቢያ ከቤት ንብረታቸው የተፈናቀሉ ወገኖችን ለመርዳት እና የወደሙ ተቋማትን መልሶ ለመገንባት በሚደረገው ጥረት የበኩላቸውን አስተዋጽኦ እንዲያደርጉ ጥሪ አቅርበዋል።
“አሁን ወደ ራሳችን የምንመለስበት፣ ጉዳታችንን የምንጠግንበት፣ አንዳችን ላንዳችን እንቅፋት ሳንሆን አለኝታ፣ ፈጥኖ ደራሽ፣ አጽናኝ፣ እና አስታዋሽ የምንሆንበት ወቅት ነው” ሲሉም ገልጸዋል።

እንደ ዲሲ ግብረሃይል ሁሉ ሌሎች አደረጃጀቶች እና መላው የዳያስፖራ ወገናችን የተጎዱትን በማጽናናት፣ በማስታረቅ፣ ለተራቡት በመድረስ፣ እውነተኛ እርቅ እና ዘላቂ መተማመን እንዲጸና ከምንጊዜውም በላይ በርትቶ መስራት እንደሚገባ ተናግረዋል።
ዝግጅቱን ያስተባበሩት የዲሲ የሰላም እና አንድነት ግብረ-ኃይል አባላት እና ተሳታፊዎችም የሚያደርጉትን ድጋፍ እንዲሚቀጥሉ እና በዳያስፖራው ዘንድም የበለጠ አንድነት እና ቅርርብ ተፈጥሮ ለአገር ገንቢ ሚና እንዲጫዎት የጀመሩትን ስራ እንደሚያሰፉ ገልጸዋል።
በእለቱም ከ80 ሺህ ዶላር በላይ ለማሰባሰብ ተችሏል። ይህን እንዲሳካ ለለገሱና ላስተባበሩ ሁሉ አምባሳደር ስለሺ በቀለ ምስጋና አቅርበዋል።
