Ethiopian, Spanish FMs Hold Phone Discussions (June 1, 2020)

Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedu Andargachew, today held phone talks with his Spanish counterpart Arancha Gonzalez.

The two discussed on how to strengthen bilateral relation and solidarity in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gedu thanked the Spanish government for the support it has been providing via the European Union (EU).

Gedu also provided briefings on Ethiopia’s on-going fight against the pandemic and its stance on the Grand Renaissance Dam.

Gonzalez said her country is keen to further strengthen its ties with Ethiopia.

She further urged Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt to resolve their differences regarding the dam through dialogue.
