Ethiopia, Czech Republic Hold Political Consultation (March 21, 2019)
Ethiopia and Czech Republic held bilateral political consultation here today.
State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Markos Tekle said, “Czech Republic is a historic partner of Ethiopia”.
He noted that the two countries should further maximize their huge potentials for enhanced cooperation.
Dr. Markos also briefed the Czech Republic delegation on the comprehensive reforms well underway in Ethiopia and the country’s efforts in regional integration as well as the promotion of peace and security in the Horn of Africa.
The State Minister called on the Government of Czech Republic to support the ongoing reforms in Ethiopia, particularly in areas including institutional capacity building.
While noting his government’s commitment to consolidate the bilateral trade and investment ties, Dr. Markos further called on Czech Republic investors to invest in Ethiopia’s industrial parks.
State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Martin Tlapa, said his country attaches greater importance to its relations with Ethiopia.
He related that Czech Republic companies are keen to invest in Ethiopia in the health and manufacturing sectors, and assured Dr. Markos of his government’s support in such score.
The State Minister commended Ethiopia’s key role in the maintenance of regional peace and security. He also hailed Ethiopia’s progressive refugee policy, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
