Today, H.E. Ambassador Seleshi Bekele met with Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD). They discussed US-Ethiopia relations, AGOA and trade, the implementation of the Pretoria peace agreement, and humanitarian assistance.

Ethiopia and the United States established diplomatic relations 120 years ago, and useful economic ties in aviation, coffee, and textile trade are expanding. Hundreds of thousands of Ethiopians live in the United States, and the moment has come to elevate the relationship to the level of a strategic partner.
