Consular Services Update – Transition to Online Processing

The Embassy of Ethiopia in Washington, D.C. wishes to inform all valued customers that the Consular Section has introduced a new service delivery update.

Effective April 2, 2026, consular services previously provided in person, including:

• Power of Attorney
• Document Authentication

are no longer available for walk-in or physical processing at the Embassy.

These services are now rendered exclusively through the online system via the Digital MoFA application.

Customers seeking online document authentication services are kindly advised that any document originating from the United States must first be authenticated by the U.S. Department of State, Office of Authentications, before submission through the Digital MoFA system.

All customers are encouraged to use the Digital MoFA App for quick, efficient, and convenient service delivery.
