The ‘Unity Park’, which is a manifestation of the MEDEMER (synergy) idea, has been inaugurated today.
Leaders of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Member States, including Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed and President Sahle-Work Zewde attended the inauguration of the park built in the premises of the Grand National Palace.
Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok of Sudan, President Salva Kiir of South Sudan, President Mohammed Abdulahi Mohammed of Somalia, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya and President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda from neighboring countries attended the ceremony.
The diplomatic community, ambassadors, representatives of UN agencies, ministers and other invited guests also attended the event.
“Unity Park symbolizes our ability to come together for a common goal and cross the finish line by creating exquisite lasting prints of our collective worth,” said office of the Prime Minister.
Ticket price to visit the park is 200 birr, and for VIP, it is 1000 birr.
