(ታኀሣሥ 10 ቀን 2016 ዓ.ም አዲስ አበባ):-የታላቁ የኢትዮጵያ ህዳሴ ግድብ ዋና ተደራዳሪ አምባሳደር ስለሺ በቀለ(ዶ/ር)፣ በታላቁ የኢትዮጵያ ህዳሴ ግድብ የውሃ አሞላልና አለቃቀቅ ዙሪያ ከግብፅና ሱዳን ጋር በተደረገው አራተኛ ዙር ድርድር ዙሪያ በዛሬው እለት ለጋዜጠኞች መግለጫ ሰጥተዋል።
ኢንጅነር ስለሽ በቀለ በመግለጫቸው፣የኢ.ፌ.ዲ.ሪ.ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ክቡር ዐቢይ አህመድ(ዶ/ር)ና የግብጽ ፕሬዝዳንት አብዱልፈታህ አልሲሲ ሐምሌ 2015 ዓ.ም የሰጡትን አቅጣጫ ተከትሎ፣ በኢትዮጵያ፣ ግብፅና ሱዳን መካከል አራት ዙር ድርድሮች መካሄዳቸውን ገልጸዋል።
አራተኛው ዙር የሶስትዮሽ ድርድር ከታህሳስ 7 እስከ 9 ቀን 2016 ዓ.ም በአዲስ አበባ ሲካሄድ የቆየ ቢሆንም መቋጫ ሳያገኝ ተጠናቋል።
በአራቱ ዙር ድርድሮች በበርካታ ጉዳዮች ላይ ስምምነት ቢደረስም ግብፅ በምታራምዳቸው ኢ-ፍትሃዊ አቋሞች ምክኒያት ቁልፍ በሆኑ አንዳንድ ጉዳዮች ላይ መስማማት አልተደረሰም።

በድርድሩ ኢትዮጵያ የመርሆዎች መግለጫ ስምምነትን መሰረት በማድረግ፣ ሶስቱ ሀገራት በፍትሃዊነት፣ በምክንያታዊነት እና በሌሎች ላይ ጉልህ ጉዳት በማያደርስ ሁኔታ የአባይን ውሀ መጠቀም አለባቸው የሚለውን የጋራ ተጠቃሚነት አቋሟን ማራመዷን ዋና ተደራዳሪው አውስተውል።
ግብፅ በተቃራኒው የቅኝ ግዛት ዘመን አቋሞቿን ሳትቀይር የኢትዮጵያን የመጭው ትውልድ የመልማት መብት የሚጋፋ ሀሳቦችን ይዛ መቅረቧን ክቡር አምባሳደር ስለሺ ተናግረዋል።
ኢትዮጵያ የመጪውን ትውልድ የመልማት መብት የሚጋፉ ማንኛውንም አካሄድ እንደማትቀበል ዋና ተደራዳሪው በመግለጫው አስገንዝበዋል።
ዓለም አቀፍ የድንበር ተሻጋሪ ህጎችንና መርሆዎችን መሰረት በማድረግ በድርድር ስምምነት ላይ ለመድረስ ኢትዮጵያ ሁሌም ዝግጁ መሆኗንም አረጋግጠዋል።

Press Statement on the 4th Round of Trilateral Negotiation on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD)

MoU was signed between the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs of Ethiopia and Gallaudet University


December 18, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs of Ethiopia and Gallaudet University in Washington DC. It seeks to advance the empowerment and inclusion of people with disabilities, particularly those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind.

Both parties reaffirmed that the MoU is evidence of shared commitment to building a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible society where people with disabilities can live with dignity and enjoy their human rights as well as contribute to the social and economic advancement of their respective nations.
It is believed that signing the MoU represents a major advancement in the collaborative efforts to build a society that is more accessible and inclusive of people with disabilities.
The partnership will serve as a model and inspiration for other universities and institutions to follow and join in this noble cause

A meaningful dialogue unfolded on Capitol Hill as an Ethiopian delegation, led by H.E Dr. Ergogie Tesfaye from MoWSA convened with Congressman John Garamendi on December 15/2023. The shared focus is strengthening ties between Ethiopia and the United States.
Dr. Ergogie expressed heartfelt gratitude for Congressman Garamendi’s unwavering commitment for the nation of Ethiopia. Together, they delved into critical discussions, emphasizing Congressman Garamendi’s role in the Ethiopia Caucus and his vital efforts advocating for the resumption of humanitarian support to address urgent humanitarian needs in Ethiopia. In addition, Her Excellency appreciated honorable Garamendi’s efforts concerning reinstating Ethiopia to AGOA benefits.

Highlighting personal connections, H. E the Minister acknowledged Congressman Garamendi’s impactful service in Ethiopia with the Peace Corps alongside his wife. These experiences have forged lasting bonds, underlining the importance of personal connections in fostering mutual understanding and robust diplomatic ties.
Dr. Ergogie spotlighted her pivotal role in uplifting orphans, vulnerable families, special needs, and youth, transitioning from seasonal volunteering camping to ongoing volunteer mentoring activities by implementing programs piloted in partnership with ACN (Alliance Care Now), a USA based charity organization in Fairfax VA, committed to addressing the needs of orphans and vulnerable families in Ethiopia.
The delegation extended heartfelt appreciation to Congressman Garamendi for his invaluable support. Together, it has been reaffirmed by both parties the commitment to fostering meaningful change on the lives of orphans and vulnerable families in Ethiopia

The 4th round of trilateral negotiation among Ethiopia, Egypt, and Sudan has started today in Addis Ababa, #Ethiopia.

The recent negotiations are being conducted following the Joint Statement by H.E. Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia, and President Abdel Fatah el Sisi of Egypt on 13 July 2023, to initiate expedited negotiation to finalize the guidelines and rules on the first filling and annual operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

The Ministerial meeting will build on the discussions of the previous sessions and technicals group meeting of yesterday and continue efforts to achieve convergence.
Ethiopia is guided by the 2015 Declaration of Principles (DoP) on the GERD Project. In particular, Ethiopia will continue to advocate for consensual outcomes based on the principle of equitable and reasonable utilization of the waters of the Nile.

The Ethiopian Embassy in DC held a fundraising event

At Ethiopian Embassy in DC, the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs-MoWSA, Alliance Care Now-ACN and the Embassy held a fundraising event on December 8. The purpose is to support orphans and needy children in #Ethiopia.

The core mission is to inspire, mobilize, and equip Ethiopians to be local solution providers for the needs of the vulnerable in their communities.

The event was attended by HE Dr Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of MoWSA and other officials of Ethiopia, Board members of ACN including over 200 supporters of the program.
