Ethiopia Confirms 9 More COVID-19 Cases (April 18, 2020)

Nine more people have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total confirmed cases in Ethiopia to 105.

The county had conducted laboratory test on 659 samples over the past 24 hours.

The newly confirmed cases include eight Ethiopians and an Equatorial Guinea national, according to the Ministry of Health.

Six of the confirmed cases have travel history abroad, it said.

Ethiopia has so far registered three deaths and 16 recoveries from the virus.

According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, more than 2.2 million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally.

More than 154,000 people have died and more than 579,000 have recovered from the virus.
