Ethiopians Living In U.S. Vow To Defend Homeland From External Pressures (May 31, 2021)

Ethiopians and Ethiopian-Americans living in the U.S. have reaffirmed commitment to defend homeland from external pressures.

A webinar that involved participation of more than 500 members of the Ethiopian Diaspora Community in the U.S. has been held to explore ways to defend interest of Ethiopia from external forces.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the U.S., Fitsum Arega stressed need to coordinated efforts of the people at home and abroad to stop meddling of foreign countries and other external forces in to Ethiopia’s internal matters.

Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr. Seleshi Bekele, addressing the webinar, external pressures that are being spearheaded from various direction against Ethiopia are aimed to disrupt the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) calling for enhanced collective efforts to avert the challenge.

Members of the Diaspora Community who participated on the webinar, to themselves, renewed commitment to actively participate in preserving national interests of Ethiopia by thwarting malicious pressures targeting their homeland through several mechanisms.
