Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed together with Former Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn and Federal and Regional leadership inaugurated the Yirgalem Integrated Agro-Industrial Park.

The first phase of the park which is being developed by the Sidama National Regional State Industrial Parks Development Corporation is now completed enabling partial production to commence.

Out of the 11 production sites built so far, 4 are under production and 8 additional manufacturing industries are preparing to also start production after installation planting machinery, creating market linkages and other requirements. Currently, those active are engaged in avocado oil, honey and coffee capsule processing.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen has held phone conversation with Foreign Minister of Finland Pekka Haavisto on a range of issues.

According to Finish Foreign Ministry, the discussion between the two higher officials is said a follow up to FM Haavisto’s recent visit to Ethiopia.

The Deputy Premier and the Finnish Prime Minister discussed on latest developments in Ethiopia and the region including humanitarian and human rights situation in Tigray.

They further exchanged views on the upcoming 6th national elections of Ethiopia and explored ways to further enhance bilateral relations between their respective countries.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed presided over a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Government of Ethiopia, acting though the Ministry of Finance, and the Abu Dhabi future energy Company PJSC-Masdar.

The signing of the MOU was initiated during the State Visit of the Prime Minister to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where representatives of the Government of Ethiopia and the Government of UAE agreed to jointly develop 500MW PV projects in Ethiopia.

The primary objective of the MoU is to formalize the intention of the Parties to further discuss the potential areas of collaboration and possibly potential projects and services related, said office of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister remarked that since 2018, Ethiopia has been undertaking a wave of reforms, particularly to strengthen the economy by harnessing private sector investments.

He reiterated that Ethiopia, as a nation with untapped potential in various sectors that can be catalysed to transform the lives of people, the energy sector has been identified as one critical lever.

Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, noted that Ethiopia has abundant resources for solar and wind power and Masdar as one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world is excited to invest in Ethiopia.

He further remarked that under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s leadership, the environment has transformed, enabling such private sector investments in Ethiopia.

ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትርና የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር አቶ ደመቀ መኮንን በአሜሪካ የሚኖሩ ኢትዮጵያውያን በሀገር ቤት ያለውን ትክክለኛ እና ወቅታዊ ገፅታ አስመልክቶ ላካሄዱት ሰልፍ ምስጋናቸውን አቀረቡ፡፡

በተመሳሳይ በሌሎች ክፍለ ዓለማት በኢትዮጵያ ምድር ላይ ያለውን ነባራዊ ሁኔታለምዕራቡ ዓለም ለማስገንዘብ በታላቅ የንቅናቄ ሰልፍ ዝግጅት ላይ የሚገኙ ኢትዮጵያውያንንም አበረታተዋል፡፡

አቶ ደመቀ ሰልፈኞቹን ታላቅ ምስጋና እና አክብሮታችን በያላችሁበት ይድረሳችሁ ብለዋል፡፡

በመጨረሻም በቀጣይ ሁሉም እናት ሃገሩን ኢትዮጵያን ከፊት አስቀድሞ የፀና አንድነትን በማጥበቅ ወቅቱ ለሚጠይቀው ታሪካዊ ትግል በጋራ ሁሉም እንዲረባረብ አሳስበዋል፡፡

State Minister H.E. Ambassador Redwan Hussien and 40 resident Ambassadors and diplomats in Addis Ababa have paid a visit to Mekelle city today (March 10).

Upon arrival at Alula Aba Nega Airport, they were warmly welcomed by H.E. Dr. Mulu Nega, Chief Executive of the Interim Administration of Tigray.

Dr. Mulu Nega, and colleagues briefed the Ambassadors about current situations in Tigray, particularly on the rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts as well as security issues in the region.

In this regard, challenges and results achieved in rebuilding damaged infrastructures, reopening public service institutions, rehabilitating IDPs, and delivering humanitarian supports were discussed in detail.

Aid agencies and the international community are requested to provide all the necessary humanitarian support using the unfettered access granted to them by the federal government.
